MILWAUKIE, Ore., March 4, 2021 — The American Association of Homeopathic Pharmacists (AAHP) held elections for its Board of Directors in March. The 98-year-old organization is the only industry association for the manufacturers, distributors, and marketers of homeopathic drugs. AAHP promotes excellence in the practice of homeopathic pharmacy, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution by supporting the requirements, criteria, and published guidelines in the HPUS, relevant Federal statutes, as well as other industry regulations/compendia — all to help members provide safe, effective homeopathic medicines to consumers, retailers, and healthcare practitioners.

About the Board Members

President: Mark Land, M.S., RAC, is the vice president of Government & Regulatory Affairs, Boiron USA in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, where he has worked in the homeopathic pharmaceutical industry for 40 years. Mark is also the president of AAHP, which represents the manufacturers of homeopathic medicines and takes the lead in representing the homeopathic community to federal regulators and legislators in Washington D.C. He has served as the volunteer president since 2006. Mark is active in the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia Convention of the United States where he chairs the Monograph Review Committee and received the 2020 HPUS Service to Homeopathy Award. His areas of interest and experience include legal, regulatory, manufacturing, quality control, and distribution of homeopathic drug products. (tag @BoironUSA)

 

Treasurer: Mary C. Borneman is vice president of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at Standard Homeopathic Company/Hyland’s Inc. in Los Angeles, California. In this role, Mary oversees all external and internal messaging and communications for the company while working to raise the overall profile and awareness of the company and homeopathy in influential publics. Mary joined Hyland’s in October 2007 after serving as manager of investor and public relations at Tasty Baking Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She also serves as the executive director of the Hyland’s Foundation and volunteers on AAHP’s Board of Directors. Mary graduated from Saint Joseph’s University (Philadelphia) in May 2007 with a Masters of Business Administration in Finance. Secretary: Eric Foxman, R.Ph., of Eric L. Foxman Consulting in Milwaukee, Oregon, is known to many in the industry as a member or company representative of AAHP dating back to 1979. Since 2010 (for four terms) he has served on the Board of Directors. Eric has been a presenter or host of numerous AAHP Compliance Thru Education webinars, addressing legal, regulatory, and technical aspects of the manufacture and marketing of homeopathic drug products. He has also been involved with the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia Convention of the United States for more than 40 years, serving on its Board, and as chair of the Council on Pharmacy. In this latter role, Eric has helped with the review and revision of compendial documents to keep them current with contemporary cGMP expectations.

 

Travis Borchardt is vice president of Regulatory Affairs and QC/QA at Nature’s Way Brands (Schwabe North America), in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Since joining the company in 2000, he has been setting the standards for dietary supplement regulatory affairs, scientific affairs, quality assurance, quality control, and good manufacturing practice. His contributions helped earn the following titles: NSF International Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) Certification, Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) GMP Certification, and Quality Assurance International (QAI) National Organic Program Certification. Travis is currently a board member of the Natural Product’s Association (NPA) and AAHP, as well as a member of the Supplement Safety and Compliance Initiative (SSCI) Benchmarking Committee. He has a multitude of experience ensuring the quality and regulatory compliance of products sold as OTC homeopathic drugs, dietary supplements, OTC monograph drugs, cosmetics, and foods. Tim Clarot is senior vice president of R&D and Product Quality for Church & Dwight (formerly Matrixx Initiatives) in Scottsdale, Arizona. With nearly 40 years’ experience in the regulatory framework of food (including dietary supplements), medical devices, and drugs (homeopathic and allopathic), both in the United States and internationally, Tim works directly with federal, state, and local regulators. In his currently position with Zicam® Brand, Tim is responsible for research and development, quality assurance of internal and external quality systems, and consumer/regulatory affairs. He has also chaired company-sponsored scientific and medical advisory boards. He has served on AAHP Legal and Regulatory Committee since 2015. Prior to joining Matrixx in 2000, Tim held various senior technical and operational positions with Reckitt & Colman (Reckitt Benckiser) and graduated from California State University Fresno with a degree in chemistry. Denise M. Eaton, BFRP, BFRAP, is the North American education manager for Nelson Bach USA Ltd. in North Andover, Massachusetts. After joining the company in 1999, Denise held positions as regulatory and Bach brand manager. Having gained a well-rounded understanding of the homeopathy industry, she has taken her expertise to educate industry partners. As a registered practitioner through the Bach Foundation International Registry for Human and Animal, Denise develops course curriculums and programs throughout the USA and Canada. She also provides educational certification programs and workshops to alternative practicing professionals and consumers for the Bach International Programs. With her unique perspective and expertise in the homeopathy industry, Denise is a sought-after speaker, having participated in and provided interviews for many affiliates in the natural products industry. Guillaume Loïs is CEO of Sevene USA (formerly HBC Naturals/OLLOÏS) in Pacoima, California. With more than 25 years’ experience in the fields of homeopathy and natural medicines, Guillaume’s development of the homeopathic category spans three countries: Spain, Mexico, and the United States. A French native raised with homeopathy, he is dedicated to sharing with retailers and consumers his vision of “a natural way to better health.” Through co-founding OLLOÏS, he offered the first line of lactose-free and organic certified homeopathic single medicines. He also founded and served as CEO of HBC Naturals, which specialized in importing and distributing unique homeopathic, supplement, and vitamin lines in America since 2011. Mark S. Phillips, PharmD, MBA, is a third-generation homeopathic pharmacist initiating his contributions to homeopathy at Standard Homeopathic Company in Los Angeles, California in 1979. He has served on the board of AAHP since 2000 and as treasurer from 2002-2021. Mark assists in developing AAHP strategies for growth, development, and compliance of the homeopathic pharmaceutical industry. Since 1997, he has served in the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia Convention of the United States as a member of Monograph Review Committee, Pharmacopoeia Revision Committee, Council of Pharmacy, Chair of the Standards and Controls Committee, and the Board of Directors. Dan Quail is president, North America, of Similasan Corporation in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Dan began his career in the Consumer Package Goods industry more than 35 years ago. Prior to his current role, Dan was division president in the Colorado Market for Advantage Sales & Marketing, a major national food brokerage firm based in Southern California. Dan then joined Similasan Corporation in spring 2004. He is currently a committee member of NACDS Outreach and Business Development (ORBD), an AAHP board member, and a member of the Consumer Healthcare Products Association’s (CHPA) Presidents Forum as well as a board member. Dan is currently leading North American efforts to grow market share of Similasan high-quality, natural products within the U.S. and Canadian markets.
