Upcoming Webinar to Highlight Homeopathic Drug Stability

MILWAUKIE, Ore. (Nov. 14, 2017) – The American Association of Homeopathic Pharmacists (AAHP) will host a two-part webinar series on stability studies for homeopathic drug products. Slated for Dec. 4 and Dec. 11, 2017, both from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. ET, the webinars will be led by Pejman Parhami, senior director of quality systems for Hyland’s Homeopathic and Aryo A. Nikopour, senior vice president of scientific and technical services at Nitto Avecia Pharma Services.

Designed for CEOs and managers responsible for compliance and quality assurance, the webinar will place stability studies within a larger context of product quality—which extends far beyond the simple task of expiration dating. The program will outline the hidden costs of doing business without product stability information as well as ways that manufacturers can use stability findings to create products with competitive advantages. Additionally, attendees will learn what the U.S. Food and Drug Administration expects from homeopathic drug manufacturers and marketers when it comes to drug stability.

“Products lacking adequate stability are liabilities for homeopathic drug manufacturers,” said Mark Land, AAHP president. “AAHP’s upcoming webinar will help attendees to limit that liability by accessing and utilizing scientific knowledge. Ultimately, the liability should transform into a market advantage.”

Presenter Pejman Parhami has more than 30 years of experience in research and development (at AstraZeneca and GlaxoSmithKline) and quality and validation management (at Cephalon and MedImmune). Currently the senior director of quality systems for Hyland’s Homeopathic, he holds a master’s degree in finance from Temple University and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Oklahoma.

Senior vice president of scientific and technical services at Nitto Avecia Pharma Services, Aryo A. Nikopour has more than 29 years of experience in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries, working for Solvay, Alpharma and Pharmaceutical Product Development. He has expertise in method development and validation, stability studies, extractables/leachables and inhalation and nasal delivery systems.
